Parenting Can Be Challenging, But You Don't Have to Navigate It Alone

Parenting is often filled with love, joy, and growth, but it also comes with its fair share of challenges. Every child is a unique individual, and as parents, we are constantly adapting to their changing needs. It’s completely normal to experience doubt, stress, confusion, and even anxiety as we navigate this journey.

My goal is to help you turn parenting challenges into opportunities for growth and empowerment. Parenting therapy can be a powerful tool in strengthening the relationship you have with your child while also addressing any mental health concerns you may encounter along the way.

What is Parenting Therapy?

Parenting therapy comes in various forms, each designed to support specific aspects of the parenting experience. Whether you’re navigating everyday stress or tackling deeper emotional issues, I am here to help.

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns that may contribute to behavioral challenges. This action-oriented approach helps you develop practical skills to manage or prevent issues like anxiety, depression, and conduct problems—improving both your mental well-being and your relationship with your child.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy delves into the unconscious roots of behavior. It helps you understand how past experiences, emotions, and unresolved conflicts may influence your parenting style and interactions with your child. By uncovering these deeper layers, we can explore healthier ways to respond to your child and foster a more balanced relationship.

Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)

MBT focuses on strengthening your ability to understand both your own emotions and the emotions of your child. This therapy encourages you to “mentalize”—to interpret behavior through the lens of underlying thoughts, feelings, desires, and needs. As you improve your capacity for empathy, you’ll deepen your connection with your child and become more attuned to their needs.

Supportive Therapy

Supportive therapy creates a space for you to express your concerns and stressors without judgment. This approach focuses on reassurance, encouragement, and guidance, helping you feel heard and understood while reducing anxiety. Together, we will work on boosting your self-esteem and confidence as a parent while developing practical skills to manage stress and build a healthier family dynamic.

A Personalized Approach to Parenting

I take an eclectic approach to therapy, combining elements from different modalities to address the unique needs of each parent. By tailoring my approach to suit your specific situation, I aim to provide you with the tools, insights, and support necessary to foster a more fulfilling and harmonious relationship with your child.

Whether you’re facing everyday challenges or navigating deeper emotional hurdles, I’m here to support you through it all. Together, we’ll work to turn challenges into growth and empower you to be the best parent you can be.
